Making Materials Matter 2018 Teachers Conference

This conference concludes the Making Materials Matter Project 2018, which is delivered by the departments of Materials Science at Oxford & Cambridge Universities and Imperial College London with support from the Company of Ironmongers. The project centres on an extended student investigation, designed and supported jointly by the partner universities to draw links between the curriculum and cutting edge materials developments. We are currently working with 5 state schools in London supporting teachers and students on a range of projects from ‘How to stop a bullet?’ to ‘Can we print a building?’ All resources developed for these investigations will be made available at the conference and the experiences of those involved will be shared.

We are delighted to confirm Dr Rachel Oliver and Professor Louise Archer as conference speakers. Further, the conference will include CPD workshops enabling teachers to link curriculum content to Materials Science as well as networking opportunities.

Further information including an online booking form can be found at the website.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the organiser, Jayne Shaw mmm@materials.ox.ac.uk
